The short version: you can play every game without an account, there are no ads and no advertising trackers, and we store as little as we can.

If you just play

• Your saved game, settings and progress stay in your own browser. Your place in each story, your options, your play time and which games you've finished are kept in your browser's storage on your device. Clearing your browser data removes them.
• Anonymous counts. When a game is started or finished, the site adds one to a daily total for that game and level (beginner or intermediate). The total has no name, email, IP address or device identifier attached, and it uses no cookies. It tells us how many people play and finish each game, nothing more.

If you sign in (optional)

Signing in lets your progress and your saved games follow you from one device to another. If you choose to sign in, we store:

• Your email address, used only to send you a sign-in link. We don't send newsletters or share it with anyone.
• Your progress for each game: play time, the days you played, when you started and last played, which levels you've completed, how many words you collected, and whether you finished without hints. This is what the "My progress" page and its achievements are built from.
• Your saved game for each story you're in the middle of (your place in it, your inventory and your conversation history), so you can continue on another device. It's removed when you finish the game.
• One cookie that keeps you signed in on that device for up to 180 days. It isn't used for tracking.

Deleting your data

Open My progress on the homepage and choose Delete my account. Your email address, your synced progress, your saved games and your sign-in sessions are erased immediately. To remove what's stored on a device, clear this site's data in your browser.

Who handles the data

The site, its database and its sign-in emails run on Cloudflare. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. No other service receives your data.
